The Aussie Bird Count with Sean Dooley

Join us to celebrate Bird Week and the tenth year of the Aussie Bird Count, which runs from 16-22 October, giving you the opportunity to contribute to important research and win prizes too!

Learn all about it at our Beaumaris Library with Sean “the Birdman” Dooley, a wonderful local author and absolute birdwatching champion – he literally held the record for the most birds seen in a year in Australia, an experience he wrote about in “The Big Twitch” (2005). Sean has also written for TV comedies such as ‘Spicks and Specks’ and newspapers such as The Guardian. Sean was the editor of Australian Birdlife magazine for many years, is currently the National Public Affairs Manager at BirdLife Australia and you’ll know his voice as a regular on radio stations such as RRR and the ABC.
