Dr Holly Parsons from BirdLife Australia will take a group of early risers through the wetland area of Sydney Park and show us some of the delightful birds that call this park home. Holly has extensive experience in environmental education and a wealth of knowledge about birds in Sydney, and how we can help look after their natural habitat. Suitable for ages over 8 years. Parents or carers must accompany children under 16 years. This event celebrates National Bird Week from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 October. $5 for adult tickets, $2.50 for concession holders. Join local bird expert, Tiffany Mason, on a guided bird watching tour of the beautiful Albens Reserve, Mount Panorama, followed by morning tea. We will stroll along paths and paddocks in search of our beautiful native birds in the grassy box-gum woodland. This reserve is only open to the public a few days per year. Here is your chance to see a little piece of the endangered woodland right in Bathurst's back yard. Enter off Mountain Straight - look for the Council banner at the entrance road.

Holly Parsons from Birdlife Australia will teach you how to ID birds and participate in this year's Aussie Backyard Bird Count, an activity for all-ages that involves observing and counting the birds that live near you. Holly will also look at what you can plant to create bird habitat in your backyard.
As part of Bird Week 2020, the Cowra NRM along with support from Mid Lachlan Landcare, Saving our Superb Parrot and NSW Government, will be hosting an evening on all things Birding Join us on Tuesday the 20th October and spend an evening with Warren Chad & Damon Oliver for a light hearted talk about what’s going on with our feathered friends and discover the role you can play through observation and citizen science to make a difference.
