Judy Christie, naturalist and birder will be sharing tips on birdwatching, local bird species and habitats and how to take part in the AussieBirdCount.org.au, one of Australia’s most successful citizen science projects. We will also repeat our regular birdcount along Lane Cove River and end the walk with a refreshing morning tea. This walk is suitable for adults. Join Sophie Golding, the City's Urban Ecologist, on an early adventure to find some habitat havens in Forest Lodge. Participants will visit a site where volunteers have been working to create a demonstration habitat haven. Dr Holly Parsons from BirdLife Australia will take a group of early risers through the wetland area of Sydney Park and show us some of the delightful birds that call this park home. Holly has extensive experience in environmental education and a wealth of knowledge about birds in Sydney, and how we can help look after their natural habitat. Suitable for ages over 8 years. Parents or carers must accompany children under 16 years. This event celebrates National Bird Week from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 October. $5 for adult tickets, $2.50 for concession holders.
